Australia Day Weekend

leave a comment »

I had a fairly great long weekend! Despite the lack of a certain someone in my life this week, everything went really well! Anyway, here is a re-cap of what happened.

Friday.
Friday was a pretty warm day so i went to Alison’s house to go swimming. Buzio was also there and we had a lovely time in the pool. I also got to meet Alison’s new little kitty, Lupe. He is so cute and charming! I wuv him. Anyways, after Alison’s i went home and napped. I later met up with Lisa, Emily and Alison in Epping to go to this new chicken only restaurant on Beecroft Rd. Faaaar out. It was amazing. So much food, and its not too badly priced. Our waitress was so cute and lovely and she gave us calendars at the end. They had pictures of cute little puppies on it. Gooood night.

Saturday.
Saturday morning i had work. Which sucked soooo hard because it was really hot and our air conditioning was broken. But i finished at 2, went home and got ready to go to Britpop! Steph came and picked me up and we got (more) ready at hers and then went to the station. By now, the Southerly had come through and the temperature had cooled down considerably.  Baboon, Paul, Steph and i then went to the Lansdowne for dinner. I love Lansdowne meals. Cheap, simple and good. It makes me happy.

It was now time to head to Britpop. We got there pretty early and were the first people there. This is where things started to get messy. Teapots destroy my life. Pimms, i love you.. But you hurt me so. Why? Anyways, there was lots of singing and dancing and fun times. Here are some photos (stolen from Karina and the Britpop website).

Gooooooooooood tiiiiiiiiimes.

Sunday.
Involved me sitting on my couch basically all day and watching tennis while feeling a little dead. My sister woke me up at midday to talk to me about stuff. I wanted to go to the gym, but i couldn’t push myself into it. I felt better by the evening and was captivated by Jelena Dokic’s performance against some fat ugly bitch.

Monday.
Monday was a great Australia day. I drove (!!!) to Paul’s and picked Ellen and Steph up. I drove on a 2 main roads for the first time ever. It was so exciting. I have now done 9 hours! I’m so close. I don’t think i’m going to make 50 hours, i’ll get too bored of driving by then. Anyways, we got to Paul’s and enjoyed the days festivities (drinking, bbq-ing and triple j hottest 100-ing). We ended up staying until about 9pm at night because i got too captivated by Guitar Hero World Tour. Paul has drums and it made my life amazing. So Sos sosososo oso amazing.  I brought my external hard drive over to Paul’s and stole all the amazing tv shows he had to offer. This includes American Dad, IT Crowd (Seasons 1-3), Flight of the Concords, Harvey Birdman, Drawn Together, Boosh, My Name is Earl and mooore. He is my new hero!

So i’m pretty happy with how it all went. This week consists of me re-sitting my Vision exam tomorrow, working, Nick coming home (<3) and shopping for Lisa’s birthday dress. Hooray!

Babe Wars

Today Lisa and I went to see ‘Bride Wars’. It was so wonderful. Kate Hudson was great and the movie only made me love her (and hate Anne Hathaway) more!

Lisa and I also went to Big W and found our Valentine’s Day outfits. Sexy!

I’m man free for a week. Lets have a girls night!

Wonderful

I had a lovely weekend (for once). I worked all day on Saturday and then i went into Newtown with Ellen and Belinda to meet Steph and her Tankaphile. We sat at Cafe Newtown for a bit and then progressed on to this amazing op shop. I bought 5 articles of clothing for $20. It was really great, got some good stuff. And then Ellen, Belinda and I went to visit Lisa Anderson in her little terrace place and chatted and chilled for a bit. After this, Ellen drove me to Nick’s place in Glebe.

Our plan was originally to get the ferry to Manly and have dinner there. However, as i had worked all day and been up since 6:30AM and he had been busy making robots (soldering) all day, we decided to go somewhere close. So we went (back) to Newtown. We walked up and down King St trying to find something we both liked. We ended up going to this Greek Restaurant (i can’t remember its name). The music was so loud and tacky -traditional Greek Euro-Trash-Pop garbage. However, they eventually started playing Enrique Iglesias, so i was happy. They brought out our food -he got calamari and i got barramundi. And fuck! They were the biggest portions ever. After that we went to the Bank Hotel and got some drinks and then went back to his! Good times.

The next day we woke up and decided that it was time. Yes, it was time. TO GO SEE THE DUGONGS AT THE AQUARIUM!!!!!! I was so excited. We trecked into Darling Harbour and ventured towards the aquarium. There was like 50 people in the line. Maybe more. So we decided that we would go occupy ourselves otherwise until later on when the line was less. We ended up going to the movies and seeing ‘Role Models’. Fuck, that is one funny movie. There is heaps of swearing and greatness. Sean William Scott’s jaw line ….drool. You all definitely have to see it. Then it was time for the dugongs! We went back to the aquarium and there was no line! It cost $30 to get in though, which was bullshit ..but necessary in order to see the mystical dugongs!  We walked around looking at all the fishies until we made it to the dugongs! They were so great. Perfect and serene, just gliding carelessly through the water. They always had a pleasent smile across their faces as if they knew some adorable secret that they could only just contain. Here are some pictures of the stuff we saw (i forgot my camera, so i had to take shitty phone photos)

After that we got a drink in Darling Harbour at some yacht club place and then went back to his place. We played guitar hero for a bit and then decided to get dinner. More fish. Seafood is great.

It was a good weekend, however i am incredibly sleep deprived. I am gay for robots.

Extended Holidays

Holy crap.  It was soooo hot today. I pretty much sat on the couch all day, watched the tennis, watched Pretty in Pink, ate and yeah. Thats about it. Oh and i applied for a couple more jobs. I try to keep my days somewhat productive.

I have been working a lot lately. Which is good seeing i really need the money at the moment. My phone bill was due yesterday and i couldn’t afford to pay it, so i asked dad if he could put it on his credit card and i would pay him back after Friday. Being poor is so fucking shitty. I always think, Samantha or Carrie (SATC) never have any money troubles  (except that episode in season one where Carrie’s credit card is declined and that Eurotrash girl pays for her shoes). Charlotte seems quite worried about having a perfect life. And lets just face it, Miranda destroys all the good that is in her life. Why can’t i be as fabulous as Carrie and Sam? It would be great never having to worry about bills, never having to designate money to do certain things and just being able to do what you want, when you want. That would truly be awesome.

But i want to make things clear. Even though my life seems really bleak, self pitying and pathetic at the moment, i don’t think it is really that bad. I mean in comparison to the problems that other people are probably experiencing right now, its basically nothing. The most difficult aspect of my day today was picking some place to have dinner with Nick at on Saturday night. It stressed me out that i couldn’t find the right place to go to. Isn’t that sad? Or is it strangely comforting that i don’t have big issues in my life? I don’t really know. All i do know is that this can’t go on forever and that i’ll miss bumming around at home when i’m working full time. Oh dear.

Its hard to get motivated when its so hot. I hate shift work and having no proper structure to my life. Im just going to focus on going to the gym and being healthy and happy and everything should fall into place. Right?

Do Over

leave a comment »

This is the second post i’ve attempted to write today. The first one was going okay, but i didn’t really like what i was saying. So i decided to start again.

I’ve been listening to a lot of The Smiths lately. I think its Morrissey’s soothing vocals that do it for me. Currently my most favourite is ‘Still Ill’ for all of you players out there. Its strange how music that was created over 20 years ago can still have such an impact. I love it.

On a more positive note, i’ve met someone. He is sexy and wonderful. I’m very lucky to have found him in the shit cesspool that is Sydney so i hope that everything goes okay (Touch wood).

I’m also sad that i’ve finished watching Season 3 of Sex and the City and need more desperately before i die! Someone buy it for me… QUICKLY!!

One final thing. I need to start going to the gym again or else i fear i may get so fat, i’ll explode and die. And then the few of you who do actually read this will be slightly less entertained.

GOODNIGHT.

GET OUT OF IT.

I’m beginning to feel like a bit of a drop kick loser. I think its the whole not having a job or any strong ambitions which is making me feel like this. But despite being a loser, i’m actually pretty happy. I’ve been keeping myself real busy. Hanging out with old and new friends, going to the beach, playing guitar hero and going out for dinner generally occupies my time.  And occasionally working my fruit shop job. I think i’m still stuck in my i’m 17 and nothing really matters. I need to get out of this mentality.

I don’t really have anything else to say.

New Year

with 2 comments

It feels like a lifetime since i’ve actually sat at a computer.  I guess a lot has gone down since last year. I haven’t really been home a lot since my last post. I’ll try and recall as much as i can haha.

Well over Christmas time i worked a whole lot -mostly 9 and 10 hour shifts. It kind of sucked.

Anyways, as for New Years Eve, the girls (Emily, Ellen, Alison) and I went up the coast to stay in the suburb of Redhead (about 20 mins away from Newcastle). We were there for 3 nights and 3 days. It was so so lovely. I love those girls so much.
Our days involved mostly sitting around drinking, eating melted cheese, being babes, shopping and then all of us running out of money. Emily scolded her hand with boiling water. I lost the ball from my monroe piercing and had to get a new one. Alison’s work didn’t end up paying her. Ellen lost her phone. The coast kind of hated us as bad shit just kept happening. But despite all the crapola, i had the bessst time and i really want to go back up there soon. I was really freaked out that there were no Asians up there. And all the girls look exactly the same (bleached blonde, dead straight hair and tanned).

We bought two disposable cameras which we used more than the digital one. I plan to put up photos on my myspace later on, but here is a little teaser.

That’s it for now.
